Why is Italy blue?

Italy national teams wear blue since 1911 because that was the colour of the House of Savoy who unified the country in 1861. It’s still found in the regional flag of Piedmont, the core of their original Kingdom. In Italian anyway this shade of blue isn’t called " Blu " but "Azzurro".
